Everyone who hosted did a great job!
Here are some photos from the evening.
Looking forward to a great 2011 in our wonderful Neighborhood!
Take a look at the Thumbs up Tom just submitted to the D&C for the help that Bruce Zaretsky provided in the renovation of Morrison Park.
On August 21st, 2010 the ABC Streets Neighborhood association held our annual summer picnic on Calumet Street. It was well attended, the weather cooperated and there was hots and burgers for all.
Here are some Pictures
It is with sadness that we inform you that Miss Sibyl Henshaw of Calumet Street passed away earlier this week. Sybil’s parents had their home built in 1907 and it is the home where Sybil grew up and has lived her entire life. Sibyl was a wealth of knowledge about our neighborhood and has shared her memories and photo’s with many of us throughout the years. She was a front-page feature in the CHAP21 Newsletter from the Spring of 2006 (which can be found on the ABC Neighborhood website) if you’d like to read more about her.
Sibyl will be greatly missed by those who have had the pleasure of meeting her over the years. Her family informs us that a service will be held in upcoming weeks. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
Neighborhood Artist Dick Lubey assisted by Mary Nicosia gave our traffic box a great new look as part of the renovation of Morrison Park.
As most of you know by now Morrison Park is about to get an extreme facelift. Jim Hondorf has provided some photos here documenting what the park currently looks like. Along with photos of the park there are some shots of the installation of the water line last year and the recent curb raising.
Well I must say we have a tough group in this neighborhood, braving the weather last night to attend the happy hour at Dragonfly on Park Ave. The weather was just nasty last night, snowy, blowy and freaking cold. A number of people walked down as well. Irene and I drove over since I really didn’t expect it to go off. As we were leaving the house I mentioned to Irene that we would shot over and stay a bit in case anyone shows. Well we had about 20 people throughout the night. Plus it was a happy several hours. Thanks to all that came out more to come!
