The ABC Streets Neighborhood Association welcomes you to our website where you can learn more about what’s going on in our vibrant, urban community. Our nonprofit association serves approximately 550 households in southeast Rochester, in an area bounded by Culver Road, Harvard Street, Park Avenue and Colby Street. Within these boundaries the ABC streets appear in alphabetical order - Audubon, Beverly, Calumet, Darwin, Ericsson, Faraday, Girard and Homer.

We are owners and renters who take pride in our neighborhood, value diversity and inclusivity, and celebrate community. For some 40 years we have worked together in myriad ways to enhance our neighborhood. There is always something happening here.

Garden walk 2022

A great success! Many strolled and biked the ABC Streets neighborhood and experienced the creative approaches for city front, side & back yard spaces: perennials & annuals, shade gardens, inviting porches, patios & decks, gardened tree-lawns, found objects, and water features.

Keep an eye out for our next Garden walk in 2024!

The walk also featured - Michael Hannen’s Rare & Different Plants and The Greater Rochester Plein-Air Painters

Check out our ABC Streets VIRTUAL GARDEN WALK created in 2020 due to the cancellation of our annual Garden Walk because of the pandemic. The Virtual Garden Walk features photos taken by participating neighbors, just for this purpose! In addition, we are delighted to include photos taken by our talented neighborhood photographer, Dave Burnet. Janina Guthrie has created this wonderful slide show for your online viewing pleasure!

ABC STREET FALL FEST 2022 SUCCESS!

We had a beautiful sunny autumn day for our second annual ABC Streets Fall Fest. It was a big success with so many great neighbors attending. It was wonderful to see brand new neighbors, friends who have been here for decades, young families, young professionals, not so young professionals, renters, homeowners, retirees, babies, toddlers, and teens. Wow!

The RAFFLE brought excitement, boasting 15 outstanding baskets to win spanning interests from wine, spirits, and food, to garden, art, Queen memorabilia, kid centered fun baskets plus 2 carved jack o lanterns!

The beautiful music from the OLIVER GOMEZ JAZZ TRIO from Eastman School of Music created a wonderful focus as we enjoyed the sunshine. The box lunches were delicious from All Occasions Catering, yum! The kids and adults alike enjoyed the bubbles and games throughout the afternoon.

Nothing this fun happens without our VOLUNTEERS who donated their time and raffle items so BIG THANK YOU to Gary, Barb, Tom, Marianne, Esther, RJ, Joyce and John, Becky and John, Vic and Fred, Marie, Dave and Irene, Vicki and Roger, Julie and John, Jeffrey and Richard, Bonnie G., Carole R., Ginny R., Carrie and Chris and Dan, Kathryn, Matt D and Nicholas, Wendy, Evalyn, Patricia H. and Scott.

SPECIAL THANKS  to the Fall Fest Planning Team of Leanne Reed, Barb Buscaglia and Janina Guthrie

And special thank you to our Sponsors! SEAC, Commonground-Healthikids and Wegmans, your support allowed us to have this wonderful event that created connection and community!

Neighborhood Connections

Throughout the year the ABC Streets Neighborhood Association hosts a number of events designed to enhance and strengthen the connections we have to each other within the neighborhood. Some examples of past and future events are: Movie Nights, Happy Hours, Holiday parties, Garden Walks, Annual picnics and more.

Clean Sweep

Twice a year we get together as a group and beatify the neighborhood.

Cherishing our children

One of the events we sponsor each year is the Halloween parade which is always a big hit and our friendly witch Barb leads the way.

Reckoning with Racism

When your Neighborhood Association board members met for a monthly meeting via Zoom on 6-8-20 we found ourselves in thoughtful, extended discussion about how we’ve been deeply affected by the events engulfing our nation. Our discussion about the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others, and in their wake the protests, outrage and unrest in our City and beyond, prompts our board to invite you to continue the dialogue.

We invite our ABC Streets neighbors to participate by clicking here.
