Calumet Triangle Park

The Harvard Street Bike Boulevard was established in 2015 to provide an alternative route for bicycles - with way-finding signs, pavement symbols and traffic calming features. In conjunction with this project, the City created the Calumet Triangle. The ABC Streets Neighborhood Association has developed the Calumet Triangle, reflecting neighborhood history with nearby Erie Canal locks, using re-purposed limestone salvaged from a historic building in Syracuse. Michael Hannen’s Rare & Different Perennials donated an array of native plants, which have grown and thrived. Neighbors built and installed a Little Free Library, which sees constant use by passersby. Commemorative bricks, lining the sidewalk, are engraved with names of participating neighbors. Most recently we installed a signboard with a historic Plat Map of the ABC Streets.
